Azzurri are pleased to introduce the CS4525 30W Class D audio power amplifier

With the huge growth in portable media players and HD flat-pannel TV’s customers are looking for improved performance and increased functionality from their audio products.

The CS4525 integrates a highly efficient 15W per channel class D power amplifier, including controller and power stage, along with a DSP based audio processor which can perform parametric equalisation, tone control, bass management and digital cross over filtering. In addition the CS4525 is unique in integrating a 24 bit stereo ADC, allowing it to accept analog or digital audio inputs and a sample rate converter which enables the output power stage to operate at a constant frequency optimising the output filter components.

Integration and flexibility are key features of the CS4525. This single chip solution can be configured as a parallel full bridge 30W mono amplifier, full bridge 15W per channel stereo or a half bridge 7.5W per channel stereo with a 15W full bridge sub woofer.

For applications requiring higher power output the CS4525 can be combined with the CS4412A power stage in a variety of audio configurations including, 60W mono, 30W per channel stereo, 15W per channel stereo with a 30W sub woofer using the CS4525 audio processor to provide the switching and bass management.

The CS4525 will support 32KHz – 96KHz input sample rates and will work with a variety of input clocks, 18MHz, 24MHz, 27MHz or the on chip oscillator can be used in stand alone applications. Extensive protection has been built into the power stages, including over current, under voltage and thermal overload to prevent damage to the device and the external speakers.

Packaged in a 9mm x 9mm 48 lead QFN package the CS4525 and CS4412A do not need a heat sink and require a minimum number of external components reducing board space and simplifying the design.
